The Contribution of Paris to the settlement of Canada

Last year i bought this book: “The contribution of the pioneers from Paris to the settlement of Canada”. Our common ancestor Michel Robineau dit Desmoulins is included. The book confirms our knowledge of Michel Robineau. He was baptised in 1683 in St. Roch church in Paris. This is a very short walk from the Louvres. His parents were Simon Robineau and Amme Robineau (Larcher). In 1684 they resided on a street in Faubourg St. Denis at the sign of the Cross du par Dieu in the Porte Saint Denis neighborhood. Michel arrived in Montreal in the early 1700’s as a french soldier in the Compagnie de Manthet. He got married to Marie-Louise Baron in 1710 in Montreal. An interesting point is that his Commander in the army was Louis Leonard de Beaujeu. He witnessed Michel’s marriage contract. It is interesting to note that Louis Leonard was baptised in 1683 in the same church as Michel. Were they best buddies who decided to go have an adventure?
